The Orb Announce Box Set To Celebrate 25th Anniversary

It’s been a quarter of a century since The Orb burst onto the electronic music scene and changed the face of ambient house forever, and to celebrate they’ve announced the release of a box set documenting their indelible mark on the scene. ‘History Of The Future – The Island Years” sees a complete history of the seminal group spread across three discs comprising of the singles, remixes and live, as well as a DVD thrown in for good measure.

Disc One collates the hits that define The Orb, from Little Fluffy Clouds to Asylum, perfect for old fans to reminisce or new-comers to acquaint themselves with what the pairing is all about. The second disc sees a broad range of remixes from a variety of defining producers, including Andrew Weatherall, Coldcut and Mark Pritchard. With The Orb’s being one of the best live acts around, it’s only right that the audio package is wrapped up with excerpts from live shows in Copenhagen & Woodstock. As a special bonus, there’s even a DVD with music videos, appearances on Top Of The Pops and even a TV advert thrown in for good measure. There really is no better package for fans of one of the most important groups in the history of dance music.

‘History Of The Future – The Island Years’ is scheduled for release on October 7th and will be accompanied by a full UK tour.
