This may be late notice, but it’s worth a post, as the minds behind Streets of Beige return this week with 2 events exploring the brighter side of electronica and house.
This evening (Friday 23 September) sees the flagship Streets of Beige night once again takeover the Old Blue Last in East London, as they welcome surprise guest and house experimentalist BNJMN to headline. The ‘Plastic World’ man is set to play live, following the announcement of his latest album on Amsterdam’s Rush Hour, ‘Black Square’, which you can preview below (more details on the event here).
Meanwhile, Saturday sees the Rhythm Factory launch of the imaginatively titled NBA Jam VS. Windows 95 crawls out of the mother Beige’s womb and squinting into the strobes of outer space “blending trans-Atlantic takes on retro 4/4, bass, garage, hip-hop, techno and heroin house”. That means the likes of 100% Silk man Magic Touch, Local Action stateside Contakt plus Ghosts on Tape, Rem Koolhaus and Elsewhere from Liminal Sounds. Room 2 is held down by Sterling who’s new brand of hip-hop and tumblr-hyped jpeg beats are set to keep people bumping. Head over to the Facebook event for free guest list action.
More SoB news coming next week, so head down to either of the above to keep abreast of one of the fastest moving club nights in the capital.
