The Berlin-based producer drops four charged cuts on his latest EP.
Ruper Taylor, who you might know as xxxy, has been honing his sharp club sound since 2009, finding a suitable home on labels like Rinse, All City Records and Doc Daneeka’s Ten Thousand Yen imprint, who he’s returned to for his latest effort. No Matter, which came out yesterday, continues the singular approach to house, techno and garage forms we’ve come to expect from Taylor. From the scattering arpeggiated ambience of the title track to the searing acid-tinged workout of ‘Piano Touch’, Taylor has crafted a seamless collection of dancefloor numbers which hold elements of his previous work, yet still push things forward.
