Night Slugs’ L-Vis 1990 prepares a 4-track EP for release at the end of February, on Clone Records’ sublabel ‘Clone Jack for Daze’.
The two Night Slugs co-founders L-Vis 1990 and Bok Bok have had unquestionable influence on UK club music since the arrival of their distinctively synth laden, glitchy take on house. Since erupting out of Camberwell back in 2008, the label has seen enormous success, with tracks like ‘Wut’, ‘Club Ensemble’ and ‘Silo Pass’ being heralded as some of the most recognisable dancefloor fillers of recent times.
L-Vis’ ‘Circuits’ EP is a more steady, minimal presentation of the his sound. Balanced between his hard-edged ‘Club Constructions’ EP and more colourful previous work, we see him opt for the club-weight of the aforementioned release, but keeps a little of the life it lacked, tailoring it precisely to the artistic directon of Clone‘s ‘Jack for Daze’ series.
Jack For Daze has so far seen releases from the boss Serge, Geeeman, Mike Dunn and Legowelt amongst others.
The label provides a continuation of the Chicago-inspired Clone imprint, and L-Vis’s forthcoming work demonstrates his scope as a producer in merging both UK and US underground sounds.
The ‘Circuits EP’ is out on February 18. Stream below:
