French Fries is back with a fresh new track and an equally quality B-side dub, to be released on ClekClekBoom at the beginning of July.
July 9 will see the beginning of a new white label series for ClekClekBoom; the venture will be inaugrated with a classy 12″ from Valentino Canzani Mora, aka French Fries.
With a string of underground hits such as ‘Hugz’ and ‘Yo Vogue,’ and an arguably inimitable sound typified by R’n’B samples and dancefloor-filling drops, French Fries has built a serious reputation, and high expectations to match.
‘What To Do’ is characteristically chopped, uptempo grooves, with a bizarrely catchy vocal and clinical drums; one of the wierder tracks we’ve heard recently, but wierd in a good way. The B-Side is a dubbed-out edit of last year’s hit ‘One Thing.’ The producer keeps the sexy Amerie vocal but re-patterns the percussion and adds weight. Yet more goodness from an artist and label that continually impress, pushing all sorts of boundaries along the way.
Stream clips of ‘What To Do’ and ‘One Ting Dub’ below, hold tight for the vinyl release in July and keep an eye out for a digital release from the label’s site – we hear its a possibility.
