Soul Jazz Records Releases A Documentary Collection About Haitian Culture

Immerse yourself in Haitian culture with a stunning assortment of documentaries from Soul Jazz Records.

The London label has released Iron In The Soul, a DVD collection of documentaries about Haitian art, music and culture by filmmaker Leah Gordon.

Shot over 11 years, the three films cover everything from Voodoo to North American imperialism to Bounda pa Bounda (translation: Cheek by Arse), a traditional carnival character who dresses in drag before going onto the streets with his Rara group to play festival music. Watch him throw shapes to Voodoo rhythms in the trailer below.

Iron in the Soul is now available to buy from Soul Jazz Records.
