Fans, bands and talking heads wax lyrical on the official film for Record Store Day 2013.
April 20th 2013 saw the seventh UK Record Store Day, the annual celebration of all things vinyl. This year’s event was lauded as the most successful yet, with single sales up around 20% and album sales up a massive 60% on 2012’s stats. Celebrations took place in 220 record stores across the UK and Ireland, with fans queueing from the early hours of the morning to get their hands on the 500 exclusive releases put out especially for the day and catch live band performances and DJ sets.
The official Record Store Day 2013 film has just landed, with highlights and vox pops from in-stores in Leeds, Manchester, Belfast and the event’s Central London focal points in Berwick Street, Soho, and the Rough Trade East store on Brick Lane. Vinyl fanatics unite with the likes of Paul White, King Midas, Frank Turner, Ghostpoet and The Strypes to discuss the importance of Record Store Day and their undying dedication to the vinyl format.
