New UK party to take place later this month features a line up of acts taken mainly from the Dutch and German labels.
One of the newest additions to the UK’s busy summer party circuit, One Day will take place June 21st, the longest day of the year. The work of promoters Front To Back, the event at The Willows in Hertfordshire will have a very limited capacity of 500 people at a single stage- split into day and night events. The promoters are keen to distinguish One Day from the legions of one day festivals in the capital, instead positioning it as ‘musical detox’ that harks back to the spirit of ‘pop-up parties outside the M25′.
Musically the artists predominantly hail from Amsterdam and Berlin institutions Rush Hour and Innervisions. Tom Trago, Hunee, San Proper and Maxi Mill hold it down for the Dutch label cum record store, whilst Marcus Worgull and Sven Weissman represent Dixon and Ame’s much loved imprint. With the promise of ‘barbecues, cocktails and a crisp funktion one soundsystem’ to serve as the icing on the cake, One Day looks set to be a nice slice of something a bit different.
