Record Store Day Special Release List Announced

A full list has been published for all special releases, to be dropped this Record Store Day, the annual celebration of independent music retailers which falls on Saturday April 19th.

In response to cries of regret that not enough material was included in the recent ‘Hardcore Traxx Compilation’ – a retrospective of the legendary Chicago Dance-Mania imprint, Strut Records have pressed four more rarities from the House collective onto 12 inch. Featuring lost material from Drewsky, Club Style and Rhythm II Rhythm, and a limited worldwide release of 500 vinyl copies, this will be snapped up quick. Ross Tones will return to Houndstooth under his Throwing Snow alias for a three-track ‘Mosaic VIPs’ special with only 300 copies, featuring alternative versions from his forthcoming album.

Luaka Bop are putting our a double twelve inch What?! featuring William Onyeabor remixes from Daphni, Hot Chip, Vaccines & more. Warp will be releasing a limited-edition, foil printed twelve-inch, ‘Commissions’ featuring works by Oneohtrix Point Never which has been used in various film projects. Knitting Factory are re-releasing the classic ‘Se E Tun De/Waka Waka’ 7 inch from Fela Kuti. To celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the cult classic film Ghostbusters, there will be a very special glow in the dark, 10 inch version of Ray Parker, Jr. – ‘Who You Gonna Call?’ featuring instrumentals and dance remixes.
