RA and Puma Launch New Documentary Series With Seven Davis Jr

Resident Advisor and Puma have launched a new video documentary series ‘Fastforward’ this week, featuring Seven Davis Jr.

The first edition of the Fastforward project follows rising L.A vocalist, producer and Hyponik favourite Seven Davis Jr. on the journey of his first European tour featuring footage from London, Berlin & Bristol, learning about his upbringing along the way. Born in Texas and raised in California, Davis Jr. was exposed to an eclectic array of music via his father from an early age, but most of his work to date has been ghostwritten for other artists until very recently. Becoming disenchanted with the music industry, he suffered with personal drug problems. His fortunes were reversed when a friend passed on his music to Kutmah who was a big fan and featured one of his tracks, ‘Thanks’, on his ‘Worldwide Family Vol.2’ compilation on Giles Peterson’s Brownswood imprint. This set the ball rolling and he has since dropped an acclaimed EP  on Jay Simon’s Must Have Records, with another one in the pipeline for Funkineven’s Apron.

The aim of the Fastforward project is to document the lives and journeys of some of the freshest up and coming DJ’s and producers as they travel to new locations, dive into unfamiliar situations, and explore exciting new beginnings on their career paths.

Kudos to RA and Puma for an excellent production, we’re looking forward to finding out what the rest of the series has to offer.
