Mark Archer announces nine new remixes of ‘Armageddon’ from the likes of Radioactive Man, KiNK and Neil Landstrumm.
The menacing stabs and roughneck breaks of Altern 8‘s ‘Armageddon’ are the defining sound of ’92 rave. Released on the masked duo’s debut album ‘Full On…Mask Hysteria’, the track now finds new life with a re-working from Altern 8 founder Mark Archer and monster remix package from Radioactive Man, DJ Marky, Ceephax Acid Crew, Mark Broom, Nightwave, The Hacker, Rennie Foster, KiNK, and Neil Landstrumm. The new versions drag the mayhem of the original in a variety of directions from rinsing electro and full-on acid, through jacking techno, house and booty, and back to rave breaks.
Set for release on digital and double colour 12″ via a Kickstarter campaign, the remixes come accompanied by a very special ‘Rave Armageddon Survival Kit’, limited to 101 copies and consisting of both records, ‘Rave Skull’ t-shirt and sticker pack plus “atmospheric filtration (Vicks vaporub), rave SOS flare (heavy duty glowstick), face, eye & hand protection gear (‘A’ dust mask, sunglasses to ‘wear at night’, white gloves!)”.
