Bristol legend Derek Morris hasn’t been seen for three weeks, his family say.
Derek Morris aka DJ Derek was officially reported missing last night. His niece Jennifer is using Facebook and Twitter to appeal to the public for information, writing on Derek’s Facebook wall: “Has anyone seen Derek in the last three weeks? This is urgent please let us known. Police are now informed and he is being treated as a missing person.”
The 73-year-old is known throughout the city, playing hundreds of sets and working with high profile artists. He’s been a resident of St. Paul’s since 1978, and after working as an accountant for Cadbury’s changed to DJing in his mid-30s. Since then he’s played sets at Glastonbury and worked with Massive Attack, as well as appearing in Dizzee Rascal’s video for ‘Dirtee Disco’.
Anyone with any information about Derek’s whereabouts is asked to contact the police, or his niece Jennifer via Twitter.
