New Hackney Central Venue, Oslo

New East London Venue Oslo To Open This Weekend

From the award-winning producers and promoters who brought you the Thekla in Bristol and Nottingham’s Stealth and Rescue Rooms, introducing Oslo.

Situated in the old ticket office next to Hackney Central station, East London, Oslo promises to deliver both a 600 capacity live gig space and a club venue along with craft drinks and great food, hosted over two floors with a slight Nordic twist.

The Saturday night programme in particular will be of keen interest to our readers with the emphasis being placed firmly on electronic music. The debut session (18th January) will consist of World Unknown’s Andy Blake, NTS founder Mr Wonderful, Boiler Room’s Charles Drakeford and residents from the Dollop gang. Future nights will see showcases from Berlin’s Leisure System, Future Brown, Standard Place and Dollop, see below for full music schedule. Those with a keen ear for sound will be interested to hear that the place has been kitted out with a state-of-the-art sound system from French manufacturer L’Acoustics.

We attended the opening event last night and were very impressed by everything on offer throughout the 7000 sq feet of space, many thanks to DHP for having us down. Check out the Oslo website here and see images of the venue below.
