New offshoot for the pioneering UK record label.
Mute Recors, the legendary UK record label responsible for launching some of the first widely available electronic music releases, have announced the launch of Liberation Technologies a new subsidiary aimed at the electronic market.
Having kick-started the career of acts like Depeche Mode, Moby, Goldfrapp, Speedy J and Richie Hawtin, the EMI-owned parent label “exists to give space to and encourage artists to experiment and challenge themselves, anonymously if they choose”, with A&R man Patrick O’Neill, who’s association with Actress, T++, Moritz Von Oswald, Joy Orbison and more suggests good things to come in the release schedule.
The first release on the new label will be the ‘Spring EP’ by King Felix, the Michigan producer known more commonly as Laurel Halo. ‘Spring EP’ is released on download and vinyl on March 19.
