The electronic duo will play a free closing gig for the 10 week project in Peckham next Thursday
Converse has announced that Mount Kimbie are set to play live at the Copeland Gallery in Peckham next Thursday 31st July. The gig will close proceedings of the 10 week CONS Project London, a series of cultural events, talks and workshops. The performance will be accompanied by a specially commissioned visual piece created a local London artist. Lil Silva, Deadboy and Spencer will also provide DJ sets on the night.
This closing party focuses on the ‘Future Sounds’ currently shaping the scene. It’s the third and final installation of ‘Journey Through LDN Sounds’ a series that has been celebrating the definitive sounds of the city over the past 20 years. Previous editions covered the best of Jungle, DnB & Garage right on through to Dubstep, Grime & Bass.
A seminar on Nurturing Creativity will also take place this Saturday 26th July with speakers Tom Armstrong (Sabotage Times), Jimmy Asquith (Corsica Studios, Lobster Theremin), Dave Gamble (Fabric) and Jimmy Posters (former Pulse Radio Editor, and co-owner of Saints & Sonnets) they will be discussing how to identify and create opportunities to get ahead in the game.
The CONS project has been curated by local ambassadors James Benenson (Urban Nerds), Alex Synamatix (The Daily Street), Scratcha DVA (Rinse/Hyperdub), Jerome Campbell (Converse CONS Skate Ambassador) and Sam Taylor (Vice/Little White Lies).
