Check out a mix from Mosca; aired on Mary-Anne Hobbs’ XFM show on Christmas Eve.
2011 has been an stunning year for the one named Mosca; it’s astonishing thing to think that his first release was still less than two years ago. The genre-leaping, chameleon-like producer/dj has effortlessly covered UKG, techno, house and surrounding areas with his releases this year, convicting each style like a seasoned veteran. From the anthemic ‘Bax’, to the deeper bearing techno of the ‘Wavey’ ep and the two, dexterously produced, slo-house cuts on the ‘5000 Followers’ ep – the boy done good, real good.
To sign off a stellar year Mosca recorded a mix for Mary-Anne Hobbs’ highly influential XFM show. As he puts it himself “I wanted to showcase a few bits I’ve been running recently from the UK, some new producers, or artists that are established but might be under the radar for some of MAH’s listeners. Lots of techno-sounding stuff, UK bass, house, funky, garage. Tip of the iceberg really so get exploring…”
You can check out Mosca playing at The Nest in Dalston tonight (31st December), for more info head here.
