If you missed it last week, preview Midland’s latest, ‘Trace EP’, courtesy of Aus Music.
Owing to consistently top quality releases from the likes of George Fitzgerald, Cottam, Joy Orbison, Appleblim, Bicep, Lee Jones, October and founder Will Saul, Aus Music‘s reputation as a platform for momentous, dancefloor-orientated productions, from the UK’s best in house and techno, has never been in doubt.
Midland‘s three Aus Music outings to date made a fourth inevitable. 2010’s collaboration with Ramadanman, ‘Your Words Matter’/’More Than You Know’, was a breakthrough release for both, ‘Through Motion’ followed in May of the next year, and 2012’s atmospheric ‘Placements EP’, as well as its remixes, was a highlight of Aus‘ output last year.
Midland returns with all the winning elements of previous work; intricately grooved, synth-driven drones set against driving 4/4 kicks – ‘Trace’ presents itself as a classy latest venture for both Midland and Aus.
‘Trace EP’ is out on vinyl and digital on February 18. Preview below.
