Influential Bristol group are to reissue their 1998 masterpiece officially for the first time.
Several bootlegs have surfaced over the years, but this November’s reissue will be the first time the trio have officially sanctioned a repress in the 15 years since its release. It will follow the publication of a new book from co-founder Robert ‘3D’ Del Naja entitled ‘3D And The Art Of Massive Attack’, which charts the visual history of the band during their 25 years together. ‘Mezzanine’ was the band’s commercial zenith, selling nearly 4 million copies worldwide and spawning the popular likes of ‘Teardrop’ and ‘Angel’. A departure from the jazz dominated sounds the band had previously employed, ‘Mezzanine’ saw the band exploring dark undercurrents and ambient textures.
Ahead of the reissue on 11th November, which you can now pre-order here, why not reacquaint yourself with the classic video for ‘Teardrop’ below.
