The breakdown of venue’s and times for the ‘Conversation and Concert’ portion of this March’s event at Tobacco Dock has been revealed.
Set to take over East London’s Tobacco Dock venue, next month’s London Electronic Arts Festival will feature a range of talks, interviews, showcases and performances alongside a huge club night. The former set of activities will take place next Friday 6th March, with things running from 11am up until midnight.
An early highlight in the Pennington Room comes first thing at 11am as Chic maestro Nile Rodgers delivers his, ‘Unmoderated, Uncensored and Unlimited’ talk. That space will also host a talk with the team behind DnB institution RAM Records and a look back at a quarter century of Ninja Tune with guests including Toddla T and Andreya Triana.
Over in the Wapping Room there are more talks, with our picks of the bunch including a talk on the ‘Ambient revival’ moderated by Boiler Room’s Joe Muggs featuring speakers such as Mica Levy and Mr. Mitch, and a conversation between Bestival’s Rob Da Bank and DJ Harvey. In addition, Point Blank are to host production masterclasses throughout the day, with the likes of DJ Hype, Sasha, Busy P and Dusky all spreading their wisdom. Native Instruments meanwhile will be showcasing Traktor and other products of theirs such as Maschine throughout the day.
The day will then be concluded by a concert, headlined by German duo Modeselektor – with support coming from Mancunian Acid House legend 808 State and Kate Simko, who will be performing with the London Electronic Orchestra. The Saturday of LEAF, will then see a party take place – with more details of that one here.
