The programme for this years Contemporary Music Festival in London, which takes place over a fortnight in May has been announced.
The event which was only inaugurated last year will take place in a very interesting location – a 20,000 sq ft former carpet factory off Brick Lane in Shoreditch, East London.
The line-up for LCMF includes Hyperdub’s Fatima Al Quadiri and German composer Johannes Kreidler.
There will be a wide variety of events such as the premiere of OUR TOO – a concerto for violin and computer from legendary synth pioneer Peter Zinovieff and violinist Aisha Orazbayeva, readings of the works of William S. Burroughs and much more.
The festival will offer “a week of multi-disciplinary events exploring the best new music and performances from around the world in an extraordinary new space.” and it is describes on it’s website as “a kaleidoscopic tour of the contemporary scene, each night focusing on a different aspect of where music finds itself today.”
