Belgian producer Locked Groove returns to Hotflush with the two-part Heritage EP.
Tim Van de Muetter aka Locked Groove smashed his way onto the genre-defying UK label’s roster last year with the ‘Rooted’ and ‘Keep It Simple’ EPs. Both releases saw the young producer putting his own stamp on classic house and techno sounds, and his next appearance on Hotflush continues in a similar vein.
The ‘Heritage’ EP takes the form of two sets of three tracks, in a style that Van de Muetter terms “100% House and Techno”. The solid sounds of ‘Wear It Well’ straddle both domains, with pads nodding to Rob Hood and the Detroit contingent, matched by horns forged in the deeper, driving house realms of Kerri Chandler.
