The Hyperdub lynchpin has uploaded 25 classic mixes from the vaults.
Steve Goodman is a name intrinsically linked to the evolution of electronic music over the past decade. Under his Kode9 moniker and as founder of the era-defining label Hyperdub he is one of a handful of artists responsible for architecting the germination and development of dubstep and its sonic subsidiaries.
Whilst the productions of Kode9 and his Hyperdub alumni have helped define the bass-driven blueprint of recent times, Goodman has also cemented his reputation as one of the scene’s most pioneering DJs. This legacy is summarised well by the vault of 25 classic mixes he has uploaded to his Soundcloud page. Beginning at a selection of 2002 garage mixes, moving to 2005’s ‘Sinogrime’ minimix, the archive extends through live recordings at FWD, Sonar, The End radio mixes for Rinse FM and alongside Burial for Mary Anne Hobbs, and onto the more recent ‘All Hyperdub’ selections. This is essential listening for fans of Kode9, and an essential education for fans of electronic music.
