James Blake will release his self-titled debut album on February 7th. Released through his own (Universal owned) Atlas label, the album will follow the warmly recived CMYK EP and the current single Limit To Your Love, a cover of Fiest’s 2007 single of the same name.
Blake’s star has shone particularly bring of late, releasing two EP’s on the reinvigorated R&S label, performing live with Mount Kimbie and generally wooing both the industry and public alike with his highly original take on soul-drenched dubstep/electronica. Despite his status as a hugely in-demand DJ (we had him rock our Hemlock Room 2 back at our Hyp party in March – editor), his warm vocal style and broad marketing appeal naturally aligns him with contemporary artists such as Laura Marling or The XX.
Plans for a live show are underway, with Blake telling the NME last week that they’ll be playing “100% live”. With the hype just beginning to take a step up, it seems the world awaits the next move from what could possibly be the first ‘post-dubstep’ pop sensation.
