The RVNG composer will perform a rare one off performance at St John at Hackney Church tomorrow evening
London promoters Bleed in association with NTS Radio have partnered up to bring San Francisco based experimental musician Holly Herndon to London for one night only to perform a one-off audio/visual set. Herndon uses a laptop as her sole tool to manipulate her own voice to create intimate aural collages. Her set will reportedly be “tailored in response to the acoustics and atmosphere of the church“.
Also billed is visionary artist Lonnie Holley, the 63 year old American musician returns to the capital after a sold out show in Cafe Oto last year. His experimental music has been likened to Sun Ra & Arthur Russell. Last but not least the London based Australian field recording artist Astor will also be performing on the night.
The St John Sessions are a series of concerts aimed at presenting some of the finest musicians and sonic visionaries in contemporary music within the beautiful setting of St John at Hackney church.
The next session will be in November & feature Ben Frost, Tony Conrad & John Chantler.
