Boiler Room premieres Addison Groove’s track ‘Forgiven’, featured on the new Sub:Stance boxset compilation.
Last Friday saw the final farewell for pioneering Berlin club night Sub:Stance, bringing an end to their reign at the legendary Berghain. Launched in 2008 by Hotflush boss Paul Rose, aka Scuba, and Paul Fowler of Spymania Records, the night sought to shake up the techno monopoly present in Berlin’s club scene, with a music policy focusing on dubstep and its crossover potential with the Berlin sound. Over the past five years Sub:Stance veered into evermore eclectic territory, harnessing techno, dubstep, garage, house and jungle to create a club format that has since been aped by promoters worldwide.
Following the final event, Sub:Stance will launch a double vinyl boxset compilation this Monday 19th July, featuring seven tracks from key artists in their five-year success story. Alongside head honcho Scuba and the vision behind Sub:Stance’s art direction, John Osborn, tracks come from electronic tastemakers Appleblim, Martyn, Trevino and Addison Groove. The latter’s contribution, ‘Forgiven’, has just debuted on Boiler Room’s YouTube channel – listen below and head here to pre-order the boxset.
