Goldie will appear as a special guest on Uncle Dugs’ Rinse FM show over the next two weeks.
Little hyperbole is required when summarising the achievements of Goldie. From roots as a graffiti artist, he became one of the true superstars of jungle and drum and bass, going on to sell 2.5 million records as an artist and found genre-defining label Metalheadz in the process. Not forgetting his Hollywood acting credentials and endeavours as a reality TV star, but that’s another story.
Rinse Fm have just announced that Goldie will be joining Uncle Dugs as a special guest over two shows, this Friday 1st March and next Friday 8th. The appearances come ahead of his forthcoming triple album ‘The Alchemist’ (dropping in March on FFRR / Metalheadz) with the two shows focusing on the release, as well as insight into Goldie’s early b-boy years and the 20-year recording career that followed.
Unmissable listening, ahead of what is shaping up to be a fertile period in Goldie’s future. A recent interview with Billboard dropped hints about upcoming collaborations with Flying Lotus, Photek and Burial, as well as a notated rendition of his seminal 1995 album ‘Timeless’, complete with 80-piece orchestra and choir.
Tune in to Uncle Dugs on Rinse FM, this Friday 11am-2pm to catch the first of the two guest shows, and watch Goldie’s 70 minute Boiler Room mix from 2012 below.
Keep it locked for more exciting guest appearances on Rinse over the weekend. Corsica Studios’ in-house night Tief take the 12-2am slot on Saturday night, hosted by Matt Hessleworth and Chris Gold, with guests Prosumer and Tim Sweeney, whilst
grime royalty Newham Generals guest on Sian Anderson’s 9-11pm show on Sunday.
