Germany To Get Two Electronic Music Museums By 2017

You wait ages for a techno museum and then two come along at once!

Kraftwerk’s 2013 residency at Tate Modern was a landmark event in terms of getting electronic music into the gallery space. Now Insomniac reports that it’s actually getting its own museums, with two new institutions set to open in Germany.

MOMEM

MOMEM  – the Museum of Modern Electronic Music – debuts in Frankfurt in 2017. It seeks to celebrate the achievements of electronic music over the past 30 years, as well as its considerable impact on creative fields such as art, design, fashion and technology.

Elsewhere, in Berlin, Dimitri Hegemann – founder of the legendary Tresor club and record label – plans to open the Living Archive Of Elektronika, just in time to celebrate Tresor’s 25th anniversary in 2016.
