FunkinEven Returns To Eglo

NTS resident FunkinEven is to drop a split 12″ with GB on Eglo this month

Debuting on Eglo back in ’09 with the ‘Kleer’ EP, FunkinEven ( aka. Steven Julien ) has gone on to make a name for himself as one of the UK underground’s best loved and most versatile producers. As well as several more releases on Eglo, FunkinEven has launched his own imprint, Apron Records, and released the acclaimed ‘Species’ EP this year on Julio Bashmore’s Broadwalk label.

Returning to Eglo for the first time in 2013, he drops ‘Egypt’, a shimmering hardware jam. Pulsing bass and simple drum work grounds a patchwork of shimmering synth arpeggios in a style that the label describes as similar to influential Japanese composer Ryuichi Sakamoto.

On the flip is Gifted & Blessed’s ‘Reflexes’, delivered under the producer’s GB alias. Previously on available on this year’s Eglo compilation disc, the track now finds a full vinyl release on this split 12″. Check out a rip of ‘Egypt’ from FunkinEven’s NTS show before the vinyl release on November 18th, whilst you can also have a look at the artwork.
