First acts announced for Born & Bred 2016

This June, Born & Bred join forces with Rinse FM for a two-day celebration of London’s bass music culture.

There’s some pretty high profile names on the poster, including iLoveMakonnen – Awful Records affiliate, OVO signee, and one of the most exciting rappers to come out of Atlanta’s crowded scene in recent years.

He’s something of an outsider though – the rest of the lineup reads like an incredibly well-curated attempt at joining the dots between London’s disparate dance sounds. There’s acts such as dubstep warrior Benga on his heroic return to the fold, PC Music head honcho A.G. Cook, east London grime legends Newham Generals, and Exit Records boss dBridge.

Elsewhere there’ll be appearances from the likes of MssingNo, Laurel Halo, AJ Tracey, Mr. Mitch, Zed Bias, Murlo, and many more.

And this is only the first lineup announcement. Check out the inital lineup below.

Born & Bred Festival takes place at Haggerston Park, 4-5 June. Early bird tickets are onsale  here, starting at £20 a day or £30 for the weekend.
