Far Out Recordings have just announced Sunday Sessions, their new weekly party at Ronnie Scott’s in Soho.
Soho’s heyday as the heart of London club culture may have passed, but Far Out are evidently doing their bit to shift some attention back to the West End.
The sessions promise to be a celebration of London DJs, live acts, collectives and record labels. Even a brief glance at the full lineup poster below confirms that they’ve got some exciting stuff in store.
A few highlights – the series opens on April 3rd with a DJ set from South London soul prince Andrew Ashong. Then on April 17th there’s a tasty double-header from jazz-dance master Patrick Forge and NTS morning host Charlie Bones. Later that month the club plays host to Italian house/hip-hop producer A.D. Bourke, and also young MPC wizard and remix don Ben Hauke, who’s released on labels such as Hear Other Sounds.
Experienced/amateur DJs/collectors/whoever might want to head along to the Open Vinyl Session on May 1st, when the turntables are open all night to play whatever you want. First come first spin of course, so get down early.
Far Out Sunday Sessions is Upstairs at Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club, 3 April – 29 May, all tickets on the door.
