Read a new interview with Bloc performer and electronica don Jon Hopkins.
In the countdown to what promises to be a breath-taking live performance at Bloc, Jon Hopkins, the man responsible for the 2009 album, ‘Insides,’ and a stunning collaboration with King Creosote, takes five to share his thoughts on live vs. laptop perfomance and his return to solo work.
Since his early career as keyboardist for Imogen Heap, Hopkins has honed a uniquely delicate sound, more recently with a specific focus in live work, as he explains:
‘The new solo album (which I’m currently about half way through) has had a totally different approach – how it will work live has been at the forefront of my mind from the outset.’
Expect big things from this Mercury prize nominee’s set on the Saturday of Bloc, and read the full interview here.
