The British photographer has published a new book to go with his film of the same name.
Interviewed on this very site last year, Ewen Spencer has played a key role in the documentation of British counterculture since the 90’s. His work with magazines The Face and Sleazenation saw him capture the rise of Garage, before the early 2000’s brought him up close and personal with Grime culture. Published in tandem with a Dazed and Confused produced film of the same name which aired on Channel 4 a few months ago, Spencer’s latest book contains previously unseen images from between 2003 and 2005.
Out now in a run of only 500 copies, ‘Open Mic Vol.2’ features shots of Dizzee Rascal, Kano, Slimzee, Jammer, JME, Logan Sama and others alongside extended print versions of interviews conducted for the film. Check it out below then order a copy here.
