This Saturday sees the return of one of London’s best loved pop up record markets.
Taking place in Old Spitalfields Market between 11 am and 6pm, the Independent Label Market will once again bring together around about a hundred labels, performing DJ’s, live acts and some of the finest ales in the capital courtesy of London Brewers Market. Once again supported by the Association of Independent Music, this year’s ILM will see debuts from Eglo and Hyperdub, whilst Houndstooth, Warp, Soul Jazz and Brownswood are the many imprints returning to sell their wares. One of the most prominent additions to the label roster comes courtesy of Martin Mills – the founder and chairman of Beggars Group, Europe’s largest independent label network, comprising of 4AD, Rough Trade, Matador and XL Recordings. Mills will be hosting a ‘Beggars Archive Stall’, selling gems, rarities and classics from the group of labels.
The DJ line up meanwhile is looking diverse one this year, with sets from Bullion, Full Nelson, Cloud Boat, Jimpster, Reginald Omas Mamode IV and more all booked in. Finally if all the music and record shopping gets you thirsty, London Fields, Camden Town, Crate and Meantime are just some of the many partnering up with the ILM this year on behalf of the London Brewers Market.
