The label will release the American newcomer’s first album next month.
Having previously enjoyed success in the full length format with albums from Om Unit and Brassica, the next LP on London label Civil Music will come from young Portland based producer Dylan Stark. The 24 year old’s ‘Heartland‘ will constitute his first official release of any kind, and is described by the label as offering, “pure, exhilarating escapism”. Stark meanwhile talks of seeking to create a specific kind of atmosphere with the project. “I tried to weave this feeling of ecstatic celebration throughout the album, I wanted everything to feel like a parade, like a dense jungle, to give a sort of relaxed, confident, joyous feeling coupled with the distant peace that would come to you when listening to a thunderstorm late at night.”
Made of, “thousands of samples” arranged meticulously by Stark, the eight tracks on ‘Heartland’ lend themselves well to the suitably epic scenes of action and natural beauty in the trailer below. ‘Heartland‘ is out on Civil Music 7th April.
