The London launches for the book celebrating vinyl culture takes place this weekend…
The 416-page coffee-table book Dust & Grooves: Adventures In Record Collecting created by Brooklyn based photographer Eilon Paz features over 130 vinyl collectors around the world and their record collections. With a foreword by RZA, photographic essays are paired with in-depth interviews that explore the passion and knowledge embedded within these collectors and the international community of crate digging.
To celebrate the launch in London, Dust & Grooves are teaming up with Ninja Tune, Wah Wah 45s, Mixcloud and Classic Album Sundays for an opening exhibition at The Proud Archivist in East London tonight. The event will feature photo exhibition featuring the likes of Gilles Peterson, Mr Scruff, Ollie Teeba, DJ Food, Keb Darge and more There will also be a book signing and all-vinyl sets from DJ Food, Ollie Teeba (The Herbaliser), Colleen “Cosmo” Murphy, Kid Dyno, Dom Servini and Sheila B. The author will also be signing copies of the book.The exhibition opens at 12pm and the party begins at 6pm.
For those who can’t make it to the launch tonight there will also be an intimate gathering at The Vinyl Library in Stoke Newington on Sunday from 3-9pm, where you can browse the Library’s communal vinyl record collection and Eilon Paz’s new book. (Check out The Vinyl Library website HERE)
