Clips of two new remixes of Livity Sound have been uploaded to Soundcloud and are available to stream ahead of their release 10th March.
The highly acclaimed Bristol based trio of Peverelist, Kowton and Asusu enjoyed a sterling 2013, with their self-titled compilation arguably one of the best received full lengths of the year. Two cuts from that compilation find themselves remixed on this release, with Pev and Asusu’s ‘Surge’ reworked by German duo MMM, and Pev and Kowton’s ‘Vapours’ tackled by Hessle Audio man and recent Fabriclive mix series champion Pangaea.
MMM (aka. Errorsmith and Fiedel), take the screeching intensity of the original and streamline into a tightly wound stormer, with its cascading bass-line absolutely pummeling away beneath steadily growing sheets of white noise. The effects intensify as the remix ploughs on relentlessly to a dizzying crescendo, on what is a merciless slice of club pressure.
Pangaea takes a similar approach to ‘Vapors’, refining the loose tribal percussion of the original into a track of manic and singular focus. Using a monolithic kick to anchor the original’s drums, Pangaea uses the experience gained from his recent release for Fabric to supplant his version right into peaktime territory.
Released 10th March on Livity Sound and available to pre-order here now, you can stream clips of both the remixes below.
