Build A Customisable Modular Sound System With SparkBlocks

A Kickstarter page has been set up by Canadian company Spark Audio to fund the project.

SparkBlocks is a fully customisable modular speaker ecosystem that allows users to ‘build their own desired system, suiting their needs’ according to its creators, Canadian company Spark Audio. Founders Yousef Saheb Javaher & Ramtin Bidshahri said: ‘We wanted to create a product that would not sacrifice any sound quality, while giving you more flexibility. Not only can you opt for the modules that most apply to your lifestyle, you can also arrange them the way that is most appealing to your visual surroundings.”

The main module in the sound system – the MainBlock – has a weather resistant chassis, contains a built-in low distortion amplifier and has four hours of rechargeable lithium-ion battery life. It can be stationary or portable, depending on the lifestyle of the user. Additional modules include the SmartBlock, which has been described by the Kickstarter page as ‘an in development Linux-based module, which allows users to directly interact with their audio system like never before.’
