Ahead of their recently announced London relaunch, Bloc will be taking over the Rinse FM airwaves this Saturday.
Promoters George Hull and Alex Benson will be joined by residents Joe Hart, Ed Chamberlain and Disco Dave, and listeners can expect two hours of uncompromising electronics in the Bloc tradition:
“We’re playing vinyl only, a selection from the vaults to give a feel of where Bloc’s come from musically. We haven’t actually had a chance before to lock down a two-hour slice of Bloc on such a venerable platform as Rinse, so we’ve been back to various bedrooms and lockups outside of London in a state of fevered anticipation, to retrieve discs the like of which you will never have known. Stay tuned.”
Bloc returns after a turbulent year, that saw their much anticipated debut at London Pleasure Gardens last July end in disaster, closing on the first night amid crowd safety fears and ticketing confusion.
The brand is now looking to rebuild its reputation with a string of London club nights showcasing a host of electronic music’s elite. Things kick off on March 9th with Detroit legends Model 500, with other highlights in the series including L.I.E.S, Marshall Jefferson, Egyptian Lover, Surgeon, Green Velvet and Man Parrish. Head to the Bloc website for full details.
Bloc take over Rinse FM this Saturday February 9th, 12.00-2.00am.
