Newly-relocated festival announce three big name headliners.
Wow. Bloc 2012 is shaping up to be even bigger than we first expected, as the now London-based label have just released details of their big headliners for this years festival.
LA’s biggest hip-hop export Snoop Dogg will be taking to the stage at Victoria Docks, following the cancellation of his recent European tour. A real coup for the Bloc crew, the 40 year old rapper will be joined by techno demagogue Richie Hawtin, who’s recent rejuvenation of his Plastikman alter ego has been warmly received by both critics and fans alike. Topping off the bill is one of modern musics most towering figures, the pioneering minimal composer Steve Reich, who’s work over the past 50 years have pretty much reshaped the musical landscape for generations of listeners.
Other names on the line-up include Orbital, Gary Numan, Ricardo Villalobos, Squarepusher, Flying Lotus, Jeff Mills, Battles, Carl Craig and DOOM which, as we’ve said before, is in itself is a fairly ridiculous line-up.
