July sees the Black Atlantic collective return to London with live shows from both Nosaj Thing and Apparat.
Following a string of recent shows in the capital featuring the likes of Juan Atkins, Mala, Modeselektor, Braiden, and Moodymann, the Black Atlantic crew have secured 2 dates in July, expanding on their usual flair for challenging bookings with a pair of line-ups that represent the finest in electronic beat expansion.
July 7th sees XOYO host LA beatmaking protege Nosaj Thing, who’s 2009 debut album ‘Drift’ showed the young producer was leagues ahead when it came to deeply immersive beat music, whilst his recent A/V shows have seen him reach new heights (as anyone who remember last years Earnest Endeavours X Deadly Rhythm show will remember).
Support will come from futuristic grime/electronica name Becoming Real, who’s been the name on many a bloggers lips this year thanks to his dark approach to the UK bass canon, and Black Atlantic co-creators Patchwork Pirates, who’s recent Earnest Endeavours shows have seen them bring Jams F Kennedy, Kutmah and Teebs to the capital.
The second Black Atlantic show will see the Scala taken over on Monday July 25 as one of electronic music’s most individual minds, as Apparat tries out material from his forthcoming ‘The Devils Walk’ album with a full live set up including percussion, cello, piano, and Apparat on vocals.
This time round support will be in the form of Ghosting Season, the duo formerly known as Worriedaboutsatan, who’s new moniker brings with it deeper exploration into the world of murky, ambient, and at times paranoid electronica.
