Rob da Bank’s annual Isle of Wight extravaganza returns for its 13th edition.
Three of the four headliners for 2016 have been announced – returning Bestival legends The Cure, Major Lazer stepping up to the big table, and Hot Chip heading up the Big Top on Thursday night.
Fresh from closing out the Sunday night at Bugged Out Weekender, Bicep and The Black Madonna are just two of the highlights on the DJ side of things, along with Skream and Richie Hawtin.
Grime is hitting Bestival in a huge way this year, with an Eskimo Dance takeover featuring (*deep breath*) Wiley, Section Boyz, Chip, Big Narstie, Newham Generals, Frisco, P Money, Elf Kid, AJ Tracey, Jammz, Fekky, Logan Sama and Maximum. Phew. You can also look forward to a set from Skepta, who may have finally dropped Konnichiwa by then.
Other highlights include garage pranksters Kurupt FM, actual garage legend Craig David, psychedelic adventurers Animal Collective, and Katy B showcasing her new Rinse album ‘Honey’.
The theme for this year’s festival is ‘Future’ – a suitably loose concept that should inspire some decent fancy dress efforts. See you on the ferry.
Bestival takes place Sept 8-11. Tickets are available here, from £190.
