Two of the leading representatives of the current UK club sound, Benjamin Damage & Doc Daneeka, have joined forces on the burgeoning 50 Weapons label, scheduled to release their debut long player on 27th January 2012.
‘Creeper’ their first work together, released back in March, was built around a devastatingly stealth synth line that was nauseatingly pitch bent, combining with tightly chopped-and-screwed breaks, taking the ‘deep rave’ sound into brand new territory. Modeselektor were sent ‘Creeper’ on NYE 2010/11 and they brought in the New Year with the track in front of thousands of people in San Francisco, promptly signing it to 50 Weapons the next day. The ‘Kings of Wales’ is a suitable title for the two Swansea boys, with Doc Daneeka’s ‘Ten Thousand Yen’ label going from strength-to-strength and Benjamin Damage regularly destroying dancefloors worldwide.
‘They! Live’ their first collaborative album together is “a collection of Berlin inspired, UK influenced UK Funky, Deep House, Tech House, Detroit- and Dub-Techno tracks all recorded in Berlin between late August and early November 2011.” Preview the artwork and CD tracklist below.
