Benga Returns With ‘Make Moves’

Benga is back with a bang.

Pioneering UK producer and DJ Adegbenga Adejumo, better known as Benga, is set to release a new EP titled ‘Future Funk’. The 3 track EP marks a fresh chapter for the dubstep pioneer, who announced a return to music after previously declaring his retirement in 2014.

Speaking about the new release, Benga commented: “It’s been two years and I have grown a lot, and I now know what’s important: music. I’m back and I think my sound is the most ‘me’ it’s been since Diary of an Afro Warrior and I’m super excited to play it and reconnect with all of the people who have supported me. Let’s have a good year!”

Track ‘Make Moves’ was premiered by Annie Mac last week as a taster, and on first listening sees the bass legend bring his dubstep qualities to an acid-tinged workout, with attention to the low end as always. Benga recently revealed he’d be returning to the decks for the Tectonic takeover at fabric, alongside Mumdance, Pinch, Acre and Ipman alongside MCs Sgt Pokes, Riko Dan and Koast.

The ‘Future Funk’ EP is out February 26 via his own Benga Beats imprint, and can be pre-ordered here. More info on the Tectonic takeover can be found here.
