In celebration of ‘the medium of vinyl’, this exclusive event, featuring an open deck, vinyl market and free bar, is to take place on 18th August on the rooftop of Netil House, Hackney.
With the increase of digital music distribution, vinyl has suffered as people favour the almost overwhelming access to mixes and EPs via facebook, soundcloud and blogs. This event gives vinyl purists the chance to enjoy the experience of digging culture, that lost art of actually holding the record, checking out the artwork and manually playing it off a turntable.
With labels such as Eglo Records, LUV LUV LUV and Wolf Music involved, this is to be an event which brings together a high calibre of records with a niche audience who are prepared to be tentative and relish the process of selecting tunes. Any aspiring record collectors are welcome to come down and spin a set; there is also delicious free food and cocktails on offer at London Fields.
