The Dutch Techno event returns as a weekender to celebrate its milestone anniversary.
In a nation of Techno lovers, Awakenings Festival nonetheless stands tall as the definitive event on the calendar. Extended to two days for the first time last year, this year will see it once again Spaarnwoude Houtrak near Amsterdam for a whole weekend. From Saturday 27th June to Sunday 28th June, over 100 artists will play across the festival’s 8 arenas – with the line-up as ever reading like an A to Z of Techno.
Popular labels and collectives such as Richie Hawtin‘s MINUS, Speedy J‘s ElectricDeluxe and Adam Beyer‘s Drumcode will all host their own stages on the Sunday – whilst longstanding Awakenings veterans including Joey Mull, Billy Nasty, The Advent and Cari Lekebusch will be helping the festival celebrate in style.
The rest of the line up meanwhile features nearly all of Techno’s recognised elite – including Ricardo Villalobos, Jeff Mills, Sven Vath, Ben Klock, Carl Craig, Marcel Dettmann and Chris Liebing all making appearances. Beyond those marquee names however there’s plenty of depth, with Mancunian duo AnD, Amsterdam dwelling British expat Dave Clarke, Blawan and Pariah’s Karenn project and Berghain resident DVS1 featuring across the weekend.
