Marc ‘MK’ Kinchen shares a few words on his journey into the world of dance music.
The man is known for being one of the most influential figures in dance music – here the veteran articulates to us in this short interview his musical upbringing, from the early teenage days spent playing keys in his room.
Raised in what he describes as the ‘dance mecca’ of Detroit, MK, amongst Kerri Chandler, Theo Parrish and Moodymann, is one of the pioneers of the East-coast underground house scene and in this short interview he sheds light on the integration of the house template into pop music and how he’s still doing just what he did when he was 14 – having fun!
With various collaborations on the cards with Lee Foss and Jamie Jones as well as Maceo Plex, the man who gave us classics like ‘Burning’ and ‘Love Changes’ is set to stay.
Be sure to catch him at the Audio Doughnuts 2nd Birthday at Lightbox on November 30, alongside Roy Davis Jr, Zed Bias and Marshall Jefferson.
