The young British artist is to exhibit his work at Shoreditch’s Boxpark venue next month.
If the name Will Prince doesn’t ring any bells yet, there’s a fair chance his work will. Born in Cumbria, the Hip-Hop obssesive has designed mixtape covers for the likes of Chief Keef, Action Bronson, Asher Roth and Kid Cudi amongst others, and is held in high esteem here and across the pond. Using sharpies, paper and his Macbook, Prince has reated a unique style based on vivid line drawn portraits of his heroes and other figures, with his work also adorning skate decks and phone cases.
Keen to demonstrate that his artistic talents lie beyond just drawing Hip-Hop stars, Prince is going to be putting some of his work on display at Boxpark in Shoreditch. With “very special guests, complementary drinks and the chance to win a signed piece of art from the man himself”, the launch party Thursday 4th September promises to be a chance to party and take in some great art.
