Addison Groove – Footcrab VIP Download

One of the absolute anthems of 2010, Addison Groove‘s ‘Footcrab’ heralded a change for the forward-thinking bass set this year, as producers continued to move beyond the typical dubstep remit, to further explore the possibilities of 130-140 low end music.

Taking juke, house, classic booty bass and more as his main influence, Bristol’s Headhunter invented a new moniker to express his move away from dubstep, with his first release garnering a weaith of attention from outside tradtitional dubstep circiles. Others soon followed suit as Pearson Sound AKA Ramadanman released a slew of tracks on his own Hessle Audio imprint, plus a groundbreaking EP on true d’n’b label Darkestral Recordings, and Tectonic boss Pinch released the devestating percussionist house workout ‘Croydon House’ on Loefah’s Swamp81.

Hyponik predicts another fruitful year of experimentation in 2011, but until then, you can now download the VIP edit of ‘Footcrab’ over at Get Darker, where you’ll also find free tracks from the likes of Skream (his Freeizm release from earlier this year) and more.
