Also featuring Jacques Green, Randomer, Flamingods, and Squarepusher’s Shobaleader One project.
Following on from the runaway success of Convergence 2016, the music, art and technology festival returns for its fourth year with a lineup as eclectic as it is stacked. Taking place from March 21-25 2017, and spread across some of London’s most beloved venues – Barbican, Electric Brixton, Village Underground, Scala, XOYO and Behind The Bike Shed – Convergence 2017 is not to be missed.
The festival opens with celebrated Seattle drone metal band Sunn O))), as well as the biggest headline show to date for south London newcomers Formation, celebrating their debut album release Look At The Powerful People at XOYO.
Wednesday is all things Manuel Göttsching as his The Ash Ra Tempel Experience project performs originals, followed by a very rare full performance of his landmark album E2-E4. While over at Village Underground, Toronto synth pop star Austra will be bringing her new album Future Politics.
Thursday showcases a selection of incredible talents including Flamingods, Ninja Tune founders Coldcut, and Warp signee Gonjasufi. While on Friday, Actress’ genre-bending live-set will be wowing audiences alongside Randomer. All before the music ends with a special closing performance curated by Montreal multi-genre producer, Jacques Greene.
Beyond the impressive music on offer, the Behind The Bike Shed-based Convergence Sessions 2017 promises an engaging series of talks and workshops, with events hosted by Native Instruments, Mixcloud, and British Council already announced. Full details of speakers and panelists are still to be announced.
