With a two-year gap since his last DJ performance and a high profiled breakdown which, consequently ended with him being diagnosed with bipolar disorder, Benga announced his retirement from DJing in 2014.
However 2016 will see the return of the Dubstep legend as he is confirmed to grace the decks for the Tectonic takeover at iconic London venue Fabric. He’ll be joining head honcho Pinch, Mumdance, Acre, and Ipman for a night of forward thinking bass explorations as they take over room 2. Mic duties will come from heavy hitter SGT Pokes, Riko Dan & Koast.
The Dubstep pioneer enjoyed several years at the top of his game, with a back catalogue that includes Dubstep classics ‘Night’ & ’26 Basslines’, aswell as a stint of chart success from Magnetic Man and a production credit for Katy B’s lead single ‘On A Mission’
Whether this sparks a full comeback for Benga is yet to be seen, but for now let’s enjoy the return of the Dubstep wonder boy.
